Our
Mission
The AABC Foundation is investing in a brighter future of birth care— one grant, scholarship, and research initiative at a time.
We raise funds to support the advancement of the AABC midwifery-led birth center model as a standard to achieve high-value, evidence-based wellness care that is equitable, safe, and respectful.
The Foundation aims to accomplish this mission by identifying funding needs and appropriate resources necessary to carry out the following goals:

Assuring the continued development, expansion, and stability of the birth center model of care.

Supporting the education of various audiences about the role of birth centers in improving reproductive health care in the United States.

Increasing access to birth center care through the support of educational opportunities for birth center providers and staff.

Funding ongoing quantitative and qualitative research and its dissemination.

Supporting birth centers in achieving accreditation through the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC) as the standard for birth center excellence.
With over 30 years of commitment to advancing the AABC midwifery-led birth center model as a standard for high-value, evidence-based wellness care, we’ve made a tangible difference in promoting care that is equitable, safe, and respectful.
